Welcome to Holly Cottage Stoke Rivers
Searching for peace and tranquillity; somewhere a little bit special? Then look no further; Holly Cottage B&B awaits you.
Just six miles from the historic market town of Barnstaple, Stoke Rivers is a pretty Devon hamlet situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Although only ten minutes from town, Holly Cottage B&B is completely off the beaten track and offers you peace and tranquillity in luxurious surroundings.
With far-reaching views across undulating countryside to Hartland Point on the North Devon coast, our spacious self-contained suite with shower room, TV/DVD, Wi-Fi, kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, sofa, table and chairs, provides the perfect escape.
Whether you want to get away for just one night, or use it as the base for your holiday, this is the ideal destination for those of you who are looking for somewhere a little special. Our mix of vintage furniture and china, Laura Ashley fabrics, Egyptian cotton bedding, best quality pillows and memory foam mattress all help to create a feeling of luxury. We want you to feel spoilt, not like you’re making do.
Ideal for business visitors who are fed up with anonymous hotels and being
disturbed by banging doors in the middle of the night, at Holly Cottage you will
escape all traffic noise, street lights and noisy neighbours and we guarantee
you’ll get a good night’s sleep; in fact the only sound you are likely to hear
is the owls!
Also perfect for a romantic escape; why not have some quality time with your loved one? Relax and unwind, soak up the stunning views and enjoy a weekend of just being together. We are happy to organise special celebration packages, including champagne, flowers and chocolates. We are also happy to advise on local restaurants and make reservations on your behalf.
We believe the best way to start your day is with a good breakfast and this we will serve at your convenience. We are just as happy to cook you a traditional full English breakfast with locally sourced produce, or can provide more healthy alternatives like cereals, hot buttered toast, free range boiled eggs, home made bread or continental pastries. We are also more than happy to provide vegetarian options as well as catering for those with special dietary requirements.
With additional rooms in the main house, we can accommodate older children
(we are CRB checked) and can provide babysitting if Mums and Dads would like an
evening to themselves. We have plenty of off-street parking.
Stephanie, Charlie and Anna look forward to welcoming you soon.
Price: £40.00 per person per night/£75 per couple. Open year round.
Sawday's inspectors eat a lot of breakfasts, so when one gets awarded top marks, you know it's seriously good! Generous amounts of local bacon, sausages and eggs, buttery mushrooms and blueberry muffins put a spring in your step. Stephanie friendly and bubbly, has created a simple, light raftered annexe suite. Peace and privacy are yours; from your pine bed, drink in the views through the floor-to-ceiling window towards Bideford Bay and Hartland Point. All around, north Devon hills rise and fall; picnic by the River Barle, explore the 11th-century church next door. This is great value". Review in Alistair Sawday's Guide to Special Places to Stay

"We landed at Holly Cottage by chance at short notice, from a recommendation - confirmed by looking on the Sawday's website. We don't "do" B&Bs, but made an exception because of the separate accommodation. Stephanie was flexible and accommodating on the phone. Great choice! Breakfast isn't just excellent (and infinitely adaptable), it's informative and friendly. And great cycling country too with a garage for the bikes - accommodating as ever! Stephanie is a star B&B-ess!
